“Dholki Beads Necklace” or “Dholki Beads mala” basically inspired by Dholak (ढोलक ) which is a traditional Indian musical instrument. Most of the jewelry follows the same design but few come with small changes. Few dholak beads not actually resemble Dholak but still called dholak beads.
Dholki Necklace is somewhat come with Rajasthan tribal jewelry touch but now a day’s the pattern is changing. Traditional Dholki Necklace is handcrafted with dholki beads but now a day’s these beads are arranged with other crafting materials like pearls and give it a Rajasthani touch so that it can easily go with any light weight rajputi poshak for any small occasion or can carry casually.
There are lots of other jewelries also coming in the Dholak pattern jewelry like
Rajputi Dholki paunch (ढोलकी पौंच) or rajputana pouch (dholki bead paunchi) which is worn in wrist or we can say dholaki bracelet if anybody have problem in memorizing the name, yes because there is lots of patterns and ornaments are worn in Indian tradition.
“Dholki Earings” or “Dholak Earrings”
When I sorted out few patterns I found few earrings which same as dholak beads are. These Earrings are come in Rajasthani meenakari jewelry pattern.
